Hey Everyone... Nuno here.

Thank you for all your support and great response we've been getting on the forums and on Myspace. I just wanted to give you an update on what Extreme is up to.

We are now finishing up the recording of our new release... which BTW rocks. We had a great time jamming and creating. We ended up with about 24 tunes... which we dwindled down to the 14 that will be on the record. And I'm sure it's no surprise to you, our fans, that they are a "mish mosh" of Old School Rock and some tasty abstract ditties. As a band we always manage to be misfits in the midst of whatever music is out there. But I guarantee it will be delicious... we are very, very excited to share it with you. Both on record and live when we come to your town... and WE WILL. Yes... we plan to tour for at least 1 year, well probably 2 years... cause we've got a lot of catching up to do with you guys and gals... And we can't fucking wait... Shit! There I go fucking swearing again... what a prick... anyways.

It's also great to welcome Kevin "FIGG" Figuieredo to the family. I could say lot's about Figg and what he brings to the intensity and sound of this band in 2008... but in the words of Joe Perry... I will "Let the music do the talking."
And when I speak about the Extreme family... I also want to mention that Paul Geary is still... very much a part of the family. I'm very excited to tell you that he will be involved in the managerial side of the band... working closely with us and new addition to our business team, Robby Hoffman... to help reclaim our block of land in the music ghetto.

Yes... lock up your daughters and lock up your wife... Lock up your back door and run for your life. Cause once we move back in...We plan to be around for the rest of our days... God willing... how ever long that may be.

Well ...that's it for now. Who ever is making the trip to LA to see us... see ya there and say hello.
We will have a drink at the Hilton bar afterwards.
And for the rest of you see ya soon...

Oh yeah... and btw.
There is a film called SMART PEOPLE coming out in April on Miramax... Check it out...it's a cool little quirky flick. I also happened to Score the music for the film...and there are also some tracks on there that Gary and I wrote.

Ok.
on behalf of Pat, Gary and Kevin............Bye.

Nuno Duarte Gil Mendes Bettencourt

Nuno Bettencourt with Camp Freddy Thursday, May 1st.

CAMP FREDDY - the Los Angeles-based "jam" group featuring Dave Navarro (ex-JANE'S ADDICTION, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS), Billy Morrison (ex-THE CULT bassist, current CIRCUS DIABLO vocalist), Matt Sorum (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES), Donovan Leitch (son of legendary folk singer Donovan), and Chris Chaney (JANE'S ADDICTION, ALANIS MORRISETTE) - will take over the Sunset Strip in May when it headlines a Thursday night residency at The Roxy in West Hollywood. The five shows - May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 - are presented by Indie 103.1 in association with Galpin Auto Sports and Velvet Angels. CAMP FREDDY will be joined by a different array of surprise guests every week as they dive into a treasure trove of classic songs encompassing glam, punk and hard rock. True to the CAMP FREDDY experience, you never know who or what will happen at their gigs. The residency will feature Mark McGrath (SUGAR RAY) every week, and some of the confirmed special guests include (in alphabetical order):

Nuno Bettencourt (EXTREME)
Brandon Boyd (INCUBUS)
Warren DeMartini (RATT)
Billy Duffy (THE CULT)
Steve Jones (SEX PISTOLS)
Juliette Lewis
Moby
Stephen Perkins (JANE'S ADDICTION)
Brett Scallions (FUEL)
Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS)

CAMP FREDDY fans have come to expect some very special collaborations - spontaneous and unbridled-at the band's shows.
"We play some of the greatest rock and roll songs ever written, have a real laugh doing it, and invite artists that we respect to play them with us," notes CAMP FREDDY in its mission statement. "It's the real spirit of rock and roll."

ffs.....Nuno played Oasis....

All-Star Cover Band Camp Freddy Cover Oasis

All-star cover band Camp Freddy were joined on-stage by members of the Sex Pistols, Motorhead, Jane's Addiction and Alice In Chains for their show at the Roxy in Los Angeles on May 1 that kicked off their month-long residency at the legendary Sunset Strip club.

The band, which features Billy Morrison (The Cult), Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Matt Sorum (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver), Donovan Leitch (son of singer Donovan), and Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction), performed cover songs by their guest performers as well as Blur, Led Zeppelin and Oasis.

"We're going to bring on half of the Sex Pistols for their song 'EMI' -- now I can die and go to heaven," Morrison said when the legendary punk band's guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook took the stage.

"What can we do to top that?" Morrison asked at the end of the Sex Pistols number before introducing Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister who sang his band's hit 'Ace Of Spades'.

The evening's guest parade also included Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, Steven Perkins of Jane's Addiction and Warren DeMartini of Ratt.

For their grand finale, the band brought on nearly all their guests as well as scantily clad dancing women for a cover of The Stooges' 'I Wanna Be Your Dog'.

They played:

Cheap Trick- 'Hello Ladies and Gentleman'
Blur-'Song 2'
Killing Joke-'Eighties' w/Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray)
Oasis-'Rock ‘n’ Roll Star' w/Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme)
Led Zeppelin-'Good Times Bad Times' with Poe, Bettencourt
Adam Ant-'Ant Music' w/Steven Perkins (Jane’s Addiction)
David Bowie-'Suffragette City' w/Warren DeMartini (Ratt)
Ratt-'Round and Round' w/DeMartini, McGrath
Thin Lizzy-'Jailbreak' w/Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), McGrath
Sex Pistols-'EMI' w/Steve Jones, Paul Cook (Sex Pistols), McGrath
Motörhead-'Ace of Spades' w/Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead)
Eddie Cochran-'Something Else' w/Kilmister, Jones, Corey Parks (Nashville muffin, Die Hunns)
The Stooges-'I Wanna Be Your Dog' w/Kilmister, Parks, Jones, Bettencourt, McGrath

Camp Freddy will continue their residency at the Roxy with different guest performers each Thursday for the rest of May.

EXTREME will make their much-anticipated return to the stage this summer in support of Saudades de Rock (pronounced "sow-dodge"), their first studio album in thirteen years. The multi-platinum, Boston-bred band's 2008 'TAKE US ALIVE' world tour gets underway on July 29th at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and will be anchored by a hometown gig two days later at the Bank of America Pavilion. In advance of the tour, EXTREME will be a co-headliner on July 11th at the five day Rocklahoma Festival in Pryor, OK.

The iconic rock foursome - vocalist GARY CHERONE, guitarist NUNO BETTENCOURT, bassist PAT BADGER and new drummer KEVIN FIGUEIREDO - will be supported by King's X on all North American dates. Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp will offer additional support on select dates.

Information on the groundbreaking new album Saudades de Rock-- which was produced by BETTENCOURT at L.A.'s NRG studios and is planned for release to coincide with the tour -- is forthcoming. Fans can expect the same unwavering songcraft and diverse musical approach that made EXTREME legendary. Simply put, EXTREME's fifth studio offering- which boasts the infectious roar of "STAR," the groove-laden, swagger of "KING", a raw funk rock anthem called "LEARN TO LOVE", and the expressive ballad "GHOST"-just may be its finest hour yet.

As excited as the members of EXTREME are by their latest musical accomplishment, they can't wait to take it to the stage. "As much as we enjoy recording, for me, I've always loved playing live for the fans," CHERONE says. "We can't wait to get out there and play this music."

"We wanted to record as much of the new album as possible live in the studio," BETTENCOURT adds. "And because of it, these songs will translate easily to the stage. We're really looking forward to getting out on tour, putting on a show. That's really where the band shines."

"We always knew EXTREME was special," the guitarist says of the completion of EXTREME's long-awaited fifth album. "We always knew it was a matter of time."

The Grammy-nominated EXTREME have released four studio albums to date, plus a greatest hits set. Selling over 10 million records worldwide on the strength of multiple world tours, the group achieved a #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1991 with "More Than Words". Culled from their 1990 multi-platinum album, EXTREME II: Pornograffitti, the disc also produced the Top 5 hit "Hole Hearted."

Although these two acoustic hits brought the band great mainstream success, they overshadowed the band's trademark sound: a mix of hard rock funk in the spirit and style of their predecessors in Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen and Van Halen. Fueled by BETTENCOURT's signature guitar flights and CHERONE's resonant vocals, the band's socially conscious lyrics set them apart from their peers. In 1992, the band was asked by Queen's Brian May to perform at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert. As the world watched, the band earned considerable credibility within and beyond the hard rock fraternity.

Yeah, it was Nuno. When I saw him this month, he kinda indicated to them not being ready until July. So I wouldn't get your hopes up for June.
