EDDIEK - 2nd of June 2009 - The Milky Way

Ok…..

First of all there was a pré-show, an artist from Holland (don’t know his name anymore, but his surname was Adams). It was nice,….I found some simularities with AdamK…..not bad at all.

After a while (the crew were preparing for the EddieK show) Eddie came on stage took his acoustic guitar and started singing, allmost aggressively. I ALONE – great song, as always!

After that a talk a little bit to the crowd….and before he started to sing Heaven, he said this song was for his 5-year old daughter, who fell from the stairs at her grandmothers home…and broke a (leg or an arm) the poor little thing.

I cannot remember the full listing anymore or the playing order…sorry, but because of some lack of sleep, my mind is not in top gear….. Wink

He played –

I Alone
The Distance (Beautifull, I tried to call Dmitri, but as I said earlier today, no connection available from te inside of the building)
Face and Ghost (Wooooooooooot, loved it)
Turn My Head (Amazing with the stringquartet)
Overcome (no guitar, just strings, beautifull)
Dance With You (Great interaction with the crowd)
Mother Earth Is A Vicious Crowd (WOW, JUST WOW)
Pain Lies On The Riverside (Need I say more...just a Perfect Song)
Lightning Crashes (Very very nice and different Cool )
Run To The Water (Rocks)
The Dolphins Cry (Rocks)
They Stood Up For Love (Great interaction, again, with the crowd)
The River (Very, very nice)
Sophia (Sexy Song)
Get Ready (Much better than the original)
Heaven (SIGH..........B.E.A.UTIFULL)
Blowin’ In The Wind (Bob Dylan) (Lovuly)

And his new song…

Zion (Nice Song, yes ad some more EddieK, this one can be great)

And last but not least.

The Beauty of Grey (The song for the vicious World, come on all, connect with eatother)

(I hope I haven't missed out anything, but when I did, please @ it Wink )

There were a lot of pictures taken.
I recorded (video) 6 songs (first 3 and 3 other ones).
I also recorded the audio part.
I hope that within this week I will have the pictures taken on this concert available (my cousin made them professionally)
Keep you informed (LittleBird)

How cool you were there too!!
I am still full on adrenaline, had a few ours sleep but I am feeling very very happy!
Ed looked like he was having so much fun. He was less "the entertainer" and more communicating with the audience. And very busy with the music.
I loved the gloom in his eyes at the start when he said he only plays in coffeeshops at home and here for 1500 people.
He talked about wanting to go back to the basic of the music. And told us the milky way felt like his bedroom.
I understood Natasha broke her elbow. Don't know if I got that right?
No pictures here, was just fully enjoying the moment there.
Got me a tshirt though.

Love to see the recordings.

The pictures are so good to see! Thank you!

Your design is amazing, it has love, it has religion and it also has something like movement, power or "fire'.
Only thing I keep feeling troubled about is the name (in general I mean), maybe EK would be more powerful. Well it is his name after all.
Hope he responds to you!

I remembered he played mirror song too, very moving!

This show was the worst show i have ever seen. Ed is nothing without the whole band. He does di this show only to make money for himself. But i have to say that his voice performence was good as always but i missed really some more instrumental influence that only his guitar and some strings. My thing was just more bass in it. So ed, don't do this again and just go play with the whole band.

Here's something funny, he played a whole different set at the Oosterpoort. And there were absolutely no strings over here. I can state that with the recording I have available for you all.

That is funny!
Oosterpoort was how many people? I heard that there was a more "living room" feeling.

That's about half of the people in Melkweg/ milky way.
Maybe that's the reason.
Well you have seen and heared more Ed and less strings!
The people playing the strings and piano were different from the ones on parkpop. Kept me busy for a while. Maybe there were no string and piano players available in Groningen????
