Misheard Lyrics

Inspired by Ruud's topic. Smile

For example from Titanic's song i was always singing:
Far between the distance and spaceships between us. Laughing

And you probably know this one.

There's a line in The National's song 'Mr. November' that goes 'I won't fuck us over'. For six months of my life I was convinced that the line actually is 'I won't fuck her sober', which made the premise of the song exponentially more interesting.

I was so disappointed when I found out the truth... Laughing

Whahahahahaha

When I was young,...a long long time ago,...

In the 1980's there was a band called Boney M. who were quite populait in Holland, they had a song called 'Painter Man' except I thought they sang
'Danger Man'!

Helpless Santa falls to the floor...

I still hear this:

Our love is like Walter,
being down and abused for being strange

This one isn't misheard, i'm just fooling about every time i sing along:

Oh, baby, let my lovin' ease your pain
Bring your burnin' skin to my river once again
I'll give you LĪVE (CD)

I used to hear this all the time. Even when I knew what he was actually saying Laughing Not that the actual lyrics make a lot of sense either.

From today, i had an epiphany and realised that Tracy Chapman was singing:
But I'm too old to go chasing you around
Wasting my precious energy

and not
Wasting my precious engine...

Too bad, i thought it was a nice metaphore Smile
